Typical Duties Overview

Project Introduction: Our client is performing a plant-by-plant review of its process systems across both sites (Mildred Lake and Aurora) to identify systems that rely on OPPSD for overpressure protection and validate the identified systems are adequately protected.
Project Mandate: Identify all OPPSD systems in accordance with AB-525 regulation. Once identified perform an Overpressure Risk Assessment based on API 521 overpressure scenarios to identify the maximum upset pressure and validate the system mechanical design based on the determined maximum upset pressure.
Project Duration: May 2024 to Dec 2027 (estimate)
Desired Start Date: On or before May 1, 2024
Main Responsibilities:
- Main: Project Coordination
- Coordination and leadership of Overpressure Risk Assessment meetings
- Coordination of OPPSD team activities
- Coordination and facilitation of plant-wide reviews with the Cross-Functional Team (CFT) for OPPSD assessments
- Updating project schedule, stewardship, progress tracker, etc.

- Update Operations Administrative Procedures with OPPSD requirements
- Collaborate with Operations to develop Operations Administrative procedures based on OPPSD requirements

- Perform piping MAWP calculations (P. Eng Authenticated Calculations)
- Perform pump deadhead calculations (P. Eng Authenticated Calculations)
- Provide marked up Line Designation Tables with OPPSD/PRD Status for drafting (or update)
- Create OPPSD/PRD Equipment Protection Matrix based on OPPSD system identification

Qualifications:
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng designation) in Alberta
- Engineering background, with focus in Mechanical or Process Engineering an asset
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a preference, but not a requirement
- Knowledge and experience with API 520, API 521, and AB-525 is a preference, but not a requirement
- Strong leadership skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are a must for this role

Kleinfelder’s South Division is growing and looking to hire a Southeast Division Municipal Market Manager to support our growth. We are looking for an energetic, and dynamic professional that possess’ both a business development and engineering/construction background and has a strong understanding of the Commercial/Industrial markets across the Southeast. The successful candidate will have the capability of growing lasting relationships and the ability to assess economic drivers, market conditions, and competitive landscape to leverage Kleinfelder’s capabilities and grow business with both an existing and potential client base.
This role can be based in: Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, Charlotte, Jacksonville or Orlando (mount Dora).
GENERAL CAPABILITY:
- Assess the market sector including opportunities and risks, and then identifying and executing a strategy to support the South Division’s penetration of that market sector.
- Identify target clients, regulatory and economically driven opportunities, and aid the Divisional leadership team, client account managers, and seller/doers to build a team capable positioning and winning projects.
- Build internal relationships and influence to monitor that projects are executed successfully and in a quality manner, leading to follow-on opportunities.

- Experience in the preparation of technical reports.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining project budgets.

- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training.

Applicant must be able to work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topographic, right-of way, transportation, and construction surveys.
Responsibilities
- Will work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveys
- Perform mathematical calculations
- Willing and able to continually learn new techniques and processes as well as operate various types of equipment to become more efficient

Position Qualifications:
- 3 months to 2 years of experience in civil and transportation related surveying is preferred

- Provide daily phone calls to Project Managers to inform of daily progress of the project.

- Implementation of the Client’s Project Management Plan, KLF’s Quality Management Plan, contract documents, and the local jurisdiction’s requirements.
- Contribute to building a high-performing team by mentoring and supporting the Owner’s team within the scope of work’s space.
- Support the Owner’s quality team by consulting the project’s team leading effective cross-functional communication.

- Maintain safe mobility over construction obstacles by foot and ladder, traversing over rough broken ground and steep surfaces.
- Work outside in variable weather at field sites and in labs with various levels of safety protection required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform field observations and materials sampling/testing during construction of buildings, bridges, and roadways.
- Perform testing on construction materials including, soils, reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, and paving.
- Write daily field reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents.

This position requires the ability to:
- Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.).
- Operate equipment as necessary (i.e., ultrasonic nondestructive testing machine, concrete cylinder press, etc.).
- Maintain safe mobility over construction obstacles by foot and ladder, traversing over rough broken ground and steep surfaces.
- Work outside in variable weather at field sites and in labs with various levels of safety protection required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform field observations and materials sampling/testing during construction of buildings, bridges, and roadways.
- Perform testing on construction materials including, soils, concrete, structural steel, grouting, aggregate testing.
- Cast field samples of concrete, grout, etc. for strength verification.
- Pick-up construction material samples and deliver to laboratory, deliver equipment to site technicians.
- Implementation of the Client’s Project Management Plan, KLF’s Quality Management Plan, contract documents, and the local jurisdiction’s requirements.
- Contribute to building a high-performing team by mentoring and supporting the Owner’s team within the scope of work’s space.
- Support the Owner’s quality team by consulting the project’s team leading effective cross-functional communication.
