The Salt Lake City (Taylorsville, UT) office offers a wide range of challenging project work and a great opportunities to develop professionally. We are seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Environmental Engineer to join our environmental team. This person will execute environmental projects under the supervision of a Project Manager with key local and regional clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assignments associated with environmental assessments, audits, permitting, subsurface investigations, remediation, and monitoring projects. We are seeking candidates with experience including:
    1. Groundwater, soil, and soil vapor sampling
    2. Installation of monitoring wells
    3. Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Report Writing
    4. Environmental data collection and interpretation
    5. Solid waste and air quality permitting and compliance
    6. Oversight of contractors during field activities for regulatory and safety compliance
  • Develop and prepare work plans, technical reports, and geologic cross sections
  • Work collaboratively with field and office staff, manage task-level activities, lead small teams and provide technical and best practice mentorship
  • Coordinate technical aspects of small- to moderately sized projects

This position offers the ability to perform or rapidly progress toward assisting business development activities and maintaining and building effective client relations.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 - 8 years of experience in environmental consulting with demonstrated experience in environmental investigation, permitting, remediation and monitoring
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field of study. Professional licensure (PE or PG is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective technical presentations and deliver high quality written work products
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to take direction from several project managers to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and physical stamina to work outside, sometimes in remote areas for up to 10-hour days
  • Working knowledge of and proficiency with environmental regulations, regulatory organizations, and environmental permitting requirements
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
