Job Description

Doucet, A Kleinfelder Company is seeking a collaborative and motivated CAD Technician to complement our Land Development team. In this role, you will support engineers in the design of subdivisions, commercial development, multi-family developments, and public works projects.  You will also prepare designs or layouts, with supervisory assistance being routinely furnished at regular intervals. 

 

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, coupled with two years of engineering or technical vocational training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering design
  • 2-5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • CAD organization and file management
  • Assistance with standards management through template and style updates
  • Familiarity with alternative software such as AGI32 (Lighting Design) and Site Ops (Conceptual Site Evaluation Software)
  • Contribution to the plan production process for various project elements (street, site, drainage, grading, water, sewer, utility, streetlights, etc.)
  • Execution, efficiency, and design using Civil 3D
  • Implementation of zoning requirements
  • Support for Quality Control processes
  • Revision of plans based on plan check comments from Engineers or Junior/Senior Level Civil Technicians
  • Meeting utilization (billable hours) targets by providing assistance on ongoing client projects.
  • Assistance in the preparation of calculations for impervious cover, hydrology and hydraulics, water quality detention, stormwater management, water supply, and wastewater flow
  • Support for Project Management, including advising supervisors on significant problems or potential areas of concern.
  • Performance of additional duties and assignments as required, working collaboratively with other employees and supervisors to achieve Doucet’s goals.
