Step into Your New Role

 

Kleinfelder is currently seeking an energetic, personable and experienced Resident Engineer for oversight on civil, water, wastewater and stormwater projects in Massachusetts.

 

Your project experience should include serving as the Owner's on-site representative on Heavy Civil, Utility Construction, Water/Wastewater, and/or Roadway Construction projects.

 

First-hand experience should also include:

  • Installation of small, mid-size and large diameter pipe;
  • Installation of pre-cast and cast-in-place concrete structures;
  • Pump Station and/or Plant construction
  • Bypass flow handling;
  • Traffic management;
  • Construction in rural and urban environments;
  • Contaminated soil management;
  • Trenchless applications such as cured-in-place pipelining, pipe bursting, directional drilling and/or and sliplining
  • Geotechnical considerations, such as excavation, backfill and compaction; and
  • Effective communication and contact with project personnel, client, utility companies, and the public

 

You will serve as the principle contact among multiple members of the Kleinfelder team, the owner’s representatives, and the contractor. You must be able to operate with a high degree of independence on specific projects to effect and determine the fulfillment of the construction contract requirements by the parties to the construction contract.

 

This position requires an understanding of engineering sciences, and familiarity with construction scheduling processes, materials, means and methods of construction, and the ability to work as the public interface during construction. You will be responsible for obtaining, verifying, and maintaining project documentation pertaining to daily quantities of work and work activities, record drawings, project events, correspondence, and recordkeeping. You will be responsible for reviewing and recommending acceptance of change proposals and will render impartial interpretations of the contract documents.

 

Experience:

  • Demonstrated successful experience with similar oversight responsibilities on construction projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a resident engineer/Owner’s Representative in utility and roadway related construction projects.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communications with management team, 

Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
