Step into Your New Role 

Kleinfelder's Southern California Area is seeking an experienced Civil Roadway Design Lead for design/build projects to join our team based out of one of Kleinfelder’s Southern California offices. This position has the option of a hybrid work schedule. This position will have the opportunity to manage a diverse project design team for transportation projects. This position will lead and deliver all phases of projects from proposal through construction and will work with our diverse team of resources located both locally and nationally, our teaming partners, and the client.  Experience with delivery mechanisms such as Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, and engineering services during construction is preferred.

 

As the Civil Roadway Design Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordination with clients, consultants/sub-consultants, and teaming partnerships to develop new work and to effectively manage the work in a fiscally successful manner.  

A successful candidate will demonstrate skills in: development of scope, budgets, work breakdown structures, schedules; project controls, quality plans, project staffing plans; effective communication with team members, client and stakeholders; risk analysis and mitigation; procurement and management of sub consultants, subcontractors.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience, and 5 years of experience as project/design manager. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. 
  • Proven experience in project management with multi-faceted infrastructure projects.  
  • California Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Outstanding communications skills and the ability to lead project teams.

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays.  The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Washington Pay Transparency Law.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $112,000- $174,000
