Step into Your New Role

 

Kleinfelder is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join the firm as an Compliance Staff Environmental Scientist / Engineer to support our growing environmental compliance practice.  The position is available in our Charlotte, North Carolina office, but would support projects throughout the US Eastern Seaboard.

 

The primary role of this position is to provide engineering technical support for various aspects of air quality compliance programs including preparation of greenhouse gas reporting, emission inventories, permit application preparation, regulatory review, recordkeeping, and reporting.  In addition, the successful candidate will also provide multi-media environmental compliance support to industrial, transportation, energy and other clients, to include:   stormwater permitting, SPCC plan development, waste management support, facility inspections and industrial hygiene. Additional activities may include site assessment and groundwater remediation support.

 

Experience in the following is ideal for this position:

 

  • Air quality permitting, emissions inventories, Title V, and NESHAP compliance  
  • Prepare SWPPP and SPCC Plans;
  • Conduct environmental compliance inspections;
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental sciences, environmental or chemical engineering
  • A minimum of 1 – 7 years of progressive experience in any of the disciplines listed above.
  • Advanced writing skills and high degree of proficiency in mathematics and problem-solving
  • Ability to occasionally travel out of town
