Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work on field teams and participate in natural resource surveys, technical writing, permitting and regulatory compliance activities for a variety of clients in the energy, transportation, and commercial markets.  The work will involve primarily field work including wetland delineations, environmental inspections during construction, endangered species surveys, habitat assessments, permit preparation, report writing, and other studies.

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Delaware;
  • Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines;
  • Ability to travel (mostly within Delaware but may include other areas of the MidAtlantic);
  • A valid driver’s license.

 

Education:

  • BS in an Environmental, Biological or Ecological Science, or Environmental Policy; Masters in a relevant field of study is a plus.
  • PWS Certification is a plus.

 

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

 

  • Experience participating in wetland delineations in accordance with USACE and state (DE) protocols, functional wetland assessments, mitigation, plant and wildlife identification, and soils identification;
  • Able to work with senior staff to help prepare permit documents, environmental reports, correspondence documents, calculations, and conduct analyses;
  • Experience conducting environmental field investigations and data collection/sampling;
  • Experience using GIS is desired;
  • Possess excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills;
  • Ability to conduct work year-round in varying climate and field conditions; Ability to prioritize effort and effectively be engaged on multiple projects at one time.
