Kleinfelder Project Controls Team engages in mentorship opportunities and a flexible work schedule.  The Senior Project Controls Specialist performs tasks in support of project budget, schedule, and reporting activities.  This position assists Kleinfelder's project managers and program managers with the development and organization of project data such as fee estimates, earned value, status reports, cost reports, backlog projections and resource needs.  The Senior Project Controls Specialist works under general supervision from the Senior Project Controls Manager within specific guidelines and protocols on routine and semiroutine assignments. 

 

Duties of the Senior Project Controls Specialist may include:

 

  • Cost Tracking and Budget Analysis Assists with data collection and implementation of accounting methods, budget tracking, burn rates, estimates to complete, earned value analysis, and status reports based on Project Manager or Senior Project Control Specialist direction.
  • Cost Proposals / Rate Analysis - Assists in development of cost proposals or fee estimates to meet client needs. Performs rate analysis to optimize project performance.
  • Change Management - Assists in tracking and monitoring the change management process.
  • Scope Management - Review of contract terms and conditions and compliance with delivery of final work product. Tracks scope changes and deviations. 
  • Invoicing - Supports a high level of invoice management and finance support for the project team.
  • Project Related Tasks Assists with project stakeholder meetings (internal or external) and ensures timely response to stakeholders.
  • Project Delivery Team Support - Assist and support Project Manager, assigned project staff, and Senior Project Control Specialist as requested.
  • Communication - Creation and maintenance of project specific tracking logs and daily communication (i.e. email) to project team and stakeholders.  

 

Experience: Self-motivated, minimal supervision, detail-oriented professional with 10+ years in planning/scheduling, cost control, and/or project controls using MS Project, P6, Excel, Word, and/or Outlook. 8+ years of financial/accounting or experience in engineering/design preferred.

 

Advanced skills in Excel and advanced spreadsheet functions preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Demonstrate team collaboration, communication, organization, and self-prioritization skills. Skills in PowerBI dashboards usage and development preferred.

 

Must be:

  • Dependable and keep required work schedules.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with direct reports, co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • A problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.
  • Work as part of a team and support the team.
  • Detail and quality orientated with the ability to identify and correct errors.

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Pay Transparency Law.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $89,000-$148,000/year. We will be accepting applications through Wednesday November 6, 2024 (90 days since posting date).
