Kleinfelder’s Geotechnical team is looking for you! Kleinfelder’s Geotechnical Services support the planning, engineering, and construction of complex projects, and our specialists are leading experts in their fields. Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Maryland/Virginia Geotechnical Engineering group. The ideal candidate will:

  • Manage a portfolio of projects meeting client and company requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Have experience with developing business pursuits and solid client relationships.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external clients to understand their needs.
  • Develop appropriate scopes for geotechnical field and office tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage small to large size multi-disciplined projects with guidance and support from senior operations/technical staff.
  • Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical activities.
  • Prepare or review geotechnical designs, reports, and calculations as needed on projects.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering
  • B.S/M.S. in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural), M.S. preferred
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)/
  • Experience with gINT, Lpile, SlopeW, Settle 3D, Slide and CAD software is preferred.
  • Have reliable, insured, transportation to and from the office
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Physically capable of meeting physical demands of walking/climbing on construction sites, moving, handling testing equipment, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, etc.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Maryland and its contiguous states. Strong analytical skills are required in areas including:
  • Soil and rock classification,
  • Slope stability analysis,
  • Earth retention systems,
  • Shallow and deep foundation design
  • Construction Support,
  • Soil improvement techniques, and
  • Stormwater Management

Benefits:Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays.The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Equal Pay Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $75,000-$101,000.
