Step into Your New Role

The solar design team in Denver, Colorado is growing and searching for a Solar Electrical Engineering Team Lead to help grow our electrical engineering practice. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be collaborative, possess strong Electrical Engineering knowledge and experience, be enthusiastic about new challenges (technical and non-technical), and be able to communicate well with others. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electrical Team Lead, including personnel scheduling and oversight, and interfacing with corporate management.
  • Execute electrical engineering activities with the objective of meeting the defined contractual scope to the relevant codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design for utility scale solar projects.
  • Stamp and issue drawings.
  • Analyze technical issues within the electrical engineering discipline, aided and supported by the other specialist disciplines.
  • Develop project design criteria, design basis, and electrical specifications.
  • Develop specific electrical systems, equipment, skid and module packages design criteria, sizing, and specifications.
  • Perform detailed reviews of project electrical design specifications, design drawings, and standard detail drawings.
  • Provide drafters with modifications to technical drawings and work plans according to engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for design team.
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members.
  • Assist in the development of work practices and procedures.
  • Assist in the creation of other project documents such as Requests for Information, Purchase Recommendations, and P&IDs.
  • Partner with stakeholders in proposal writing, marketing presentations, and organization of internal resources for assigned prospects.
  • Support the business development of Kleinfelder and liaise any possible opportunities.
  • Travel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and meeting with clients.
  • Attend and host team/project meetings and client meetings.
  • Completion of other relevant duties as required.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Registered as PE in Colorado or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive professional project management, project engineering or discipline engineering in the solar renewables or related industry.
  • Recent experience in executing multi-projects and multi-disciplined medium- to large-size projects.
  • Familiar with relevant electrical codes.
  • Familiar with the development of P&IDs, DBM’s, single line diagrams, and other key design documents.
  • Working knowledge of CAD design software and standards would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $124,000 - $184,000. We will be accepting applications through April 15, 2025 (90 days since posting date).
