We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dynamic and growth-oriented individual to join our Central Division Leadership Team and help transform our future. The Central Division Business Development Innovation Leader will work closely with Division staff to identify and implement creative and innovative ideas that elevate our brand and expand our market share across the Central Division geography. This person will also work with Central Division Key and Growth Account Client Account Managers and Initiative Leaders to enhance our client relationships and expand our sales portfolio. The selected candidate will provide overall leadership and direction of the business development support and marketing activities and functions for the Division. The ideal candidate has:

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and passion to grow client services.
  • Solid business acumen with a demonstrated ability to communicate value in evolving formats encapsulating client “hot buttons” and Kleinfelder services and capabilities.
  • A “strategic” mindset with an understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Extensive experience working with diverse technical teams in matrix work environment to create and/or reimagine storyboards, capture strategies/campaigns, win themes, graphics, collateral, proposals, presentations and other marketing materials.
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment.
  • Understanding of available training materials, marketing tools, templates, etc. available to embolden sales initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participates in business line planning efforts and assists in the development of / enhancements to business development strategy. 
  • Provides inspirational business, market, and professional development leadership.
  • Supports development of client account plans contributing to account history, competitor intelligence, and growth strategies.
  • Supports division pursuits, including firm-wide qualifications, proposal, and presentation production, driving effectiveness across market segments, service lines, and regional efforts.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to the pursuit team.Manage the pursuit team to develop content that effectively communicates the company's qualifications, approach, and value proposition.
  • Manages Client Relationship Management (CRM, e.g. Deltek Vision), including enhancing the integrity of the pipeline/soft backlog information through effective implementation, adoption, and maintenance for the division. Also includes sale and backlog forecasting.
  • Develops and manages Division on-call contract program to ensure return on investment including but not limited to strategic GNG decisions and client engagement plans.
  • Facilitates and leads post-mortem reviews (debriefs for wins and losses) to assess the effectiveness of the proposal development process, identify lessons learned, and identify areas for improvement in future proposals.
  • Supports the collection, integration, and utilization of client feedback in client marketing planning.
  • Manages leading indicators and business development efficiency reporting for Areas, Markets and Service Lines in the Division.
  • Supports effective engagement with External Organizations such as ACEC, SWE, etc.
  • Supports consistent brand presentation (messaging & visual assets) across all external communication vehicles.

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. 
  • Must have a 'get it done' attitude and be proactive. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Excellent organization skill with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign. 
  • Technical writing experience a plus.
  • An ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities while managing multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in preparation of SF 330 and TxDOT submittals a plus.

 EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum experience: 8-10 years of related experience. Public affairs and technical writing experience a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s/MBA degree or equivalent preferred.

POSITION CONDITIONS

  • This position is available in any of our Colorado, Utah, or Texas offices.
  • Travel may be required.

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $98,840 - $182,320.  We will be accepting applications through 5/27/25.
