From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing market helps to develop and maintain America’s infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.

 

Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder Construction Materials Engineering and Testing team is seeking experienced inspectors to perform quality assurance inspection services on transportation-related road and highway improvement projects throughout Southern California.

 

Job Duties

  • Work in a team environment under the supervision of the Lead/Senior Quality Assurance Inspector
  • Perform inspections of precast/prestressed concrete elements, and/or steel fabrication and welding, and/or steel coating (galvanization, epoxy, zinc paint)
  • 80% travel (local and nationwide)
  • Develop relationships with fabricators and their quality control staff
  • Observe quality control processes
  • Prepare summary reports
  • Assist with reviews of shop drawings
  • Assist with reviews of quality control plans
  • Identify samples for testing and review required paperwork
  • Review test results to assess compliance with the specifications

Qualifications/Skills

  • PCI Level II or CWI (required)
  • NDT Level II (preferred)
  • NACE Level II (preferred)
  • Additional certifications a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an inspector
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Office)
  • Proficient with Adobe and/or BlueBeam PDF readers
  • Good writing skills
  • Able to read and interpret plans, specifications, and applicable codes (e.g. ASTM, AWS)
  • Good communication skills

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law.
