Step Into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking an Environmental Technician.  This Environmental Technician position can be based in our Los Angeles, Riverside or Ontario California offices.

We are currently seeking a high energy, mechanically inclined individual to work outdoors performing environmental field sampling and remediation system services.

  • The work consists mainly of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling, and operations and maintenances activities associated with soil vapor and groundwater remediation systems. 
  • Position is 100% in the field, in all weather conditions, and is physically and mechanically demanding (must be able to lift up to 50 pounds).
  • Familiarity with soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling procedures and utilizing chain of custody protocol is preferred.
  • Experience with operation, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of soil and groundwater remediation systems is a plus.
  • Candidates must be independent, very responsible, mature, and willing to travel.  Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills are critical, and the candidate must be comfortable with common personal computing software.
  • The candidate must have an appreciation for the importance of adhering to a safety culture that believes that all accidents are preventable. The candidate will be expected to follow written technical procedures and document field activities commensurate with individual project expectations.
  • Responsibilities include planning field activities, communicating with Senior Engineers and Project Managers, implementing project/system schedules, working with other Environmental Professionals and Technicians, and ensuring quality execution of work. 

 

H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. is required. A 2 or 4-year industrial or technical degree (Engineering or Geology), or training is preferred.

 

Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of experience in the environmental field with some experience working with petroleum-impacted sites.

 

Candidates must have a good driving record and a valid Driver's License.

Additional job requirements include 40-hour OSHA Health and Safety Training and First Aid/CPR training

 

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • 1-3 years of environmental consulting experience on assessment and remediation projects with focus on multi-media sampling, and remediation systems including:
  • Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling
  • Soil Vapor Sampling
  • Remediation System Operation and Maintenance
  • Remediation System Optimization 

 

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possess presentation, loss prevention, and interpersonal skills
  • Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) accountability

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law.  Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: 44,000- 73,000
