Step into Your New Role

 
Kleinfelder seeks a Senior Architectural Historian/Project Manager with experience in conducting and overseeing technical studies and related project permitting for public, private, and state clients. The individual will also assist in business development, project management, and mentoring staff. The individual should be located within our Northern Califiornia area and able to report (as-needed) to our Fresno office.  This position is a flexible position.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing: serve as the architectural history business development line lead; proposals preparation and marketing Kleinfelder; and client coordination/networking with new and existing clients.
  • Technical: strong regulatory expertise; ability to effectively communicate with clients to meet their needs; prepare research designs, work plans, agreement documents, and schedules; fieldwork, resource evaluation, technical reporting; mentor and oversee junior support staff (as needed).
  • Work closely with other archaeologists, biologists, engineers, environmental planners, geotechnical, and other project managers.
  • Provide enthusiasm and commitment to client service and technical excellence.
  • Successful candidates will be familiar with working within a fast-paced consulting environment and help to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges. 
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Exceed Secretary of Interiors Professional Standards Qualifications as an Architectural Historian.
  • Eight or more years of progressive experience supervising architectural history or other cultural resources projects in California.
  • Experience in successful coordination and report approval with state and federal agencies.
  • Ability to be listed on BLM State-wide permit as a Principal Investigator or Field Director (for Architectural History.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and project management skills.
  • Experience with state and federal agency and/or tribal consultation, and an excellent reputation within the professional and regulatory communities.
  • The ability to work closely with clients, engineers and other technical specialists as part of a larger combined project team.
  • Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, total station, etc.) and GIS applications and software.
  • Excellent technical report and proposal writing experience.

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays.  The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Hourly range: $50.02 - $83.48.
