CMWorks, a Kleinfelder company, is seeking a responsible candidate for the position of Construction Inspector Level IV to work on a variety of projects in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The successful candidate will perform construction inspection and coordinate material testing on various projects. Our immediate need is an inspector with sewer line (new and rehabilitation) experience but we can use well-rounded inspectors with experience in all areas of public work construction such as highways, roadways, freeways, waterlines, sewer lines, drainage, various structures, traffic signals, bridges, water/wastewater treatments, buildings and facilities.



Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspection of construction activities on complex projects and record details on an Inspector's Daily Report (IDR) and/or other reports as necessary
  • Be proficient in reading plans and special provisions/specification
  • Track and accurately document quantities of work
  • Review submittals and assist with approvals
  • Exercise a certain degree of independent thought and judgment
  • May provide guidance and/or work assignments to other inspectors
  • Assure compliance with construction documents and state/federal rules and regulations
  • Review construction-related documentation, including contractors' pay applications and change order requests
  • Coordinate and understand materials testing (asphalt, aggregate, soils, concrete, others) and track test results
  • Assist in review and response to contractor RFIs
  • Prepare and participate in project meetings

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Higher education preferred.
  • Current/valid Driver's License with demonstrated safe driving practices and reliable transportation
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in construction, construction inspection and/or construction contract administration. Emphasis on underground utilities.
  • Relevant certifications related to construction including ATTSA, ICC, ACI, IMSA, NASSCO, WPCM, and others.
  • Sanitary sewer construction/rehabilitation and/or wastewater facility related training and experience.
  • NASSCO and/or NACE certification is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of surveying principles and practice
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel)
  • Knowledge in basic engineering principles of algebra, geometry and trigonometry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills, either in-person, via telephone or via email
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Partnering and team approach to relationships and resolving issues with contractor
  • Efficiency, accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak clearly and accurately
  • Ability to use current technology and document control software such as Submittal Exchange, Unifier, NDOT AWP and others. 
  • Experience performing biddability/constructability reviews is a plus.
  • OSHA30 or ability to obtain
