Electrical Engineer

Step into Your New Role:

Kleinfelder has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Electrical Engineer to join our team. You will perform work on projects for overhead and underground electric power transmission and distribution for institutions, industrial and commercial buildings, and municipal facilities. This role has a hybrid remote/office schedule based in our Perrysburg, OH office or Dublin, OH.

Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical team on selected multi-discipline projects.
• Review designs and documentation to ensure compliance with codes, standards and design criteria.
• Prepare designs, schematics, layouts, and studies from field inspections, preliminary sketches, specifications, and instructions requiring knowledge of engineering practices and shop and field procedures.
• Analyze existing client systems and/or conduct studies to determine design options.
• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Research and apply electrical codes, standards, and specifications to ensure designs meet all project requirements.
• Construction specification and bid package preparation.
• Provide technical guidance to team members on electrical engineering test methods.
• Develop status reports with task completion, progress, challenges and solutions.
• Create and develop client relationships and assist project managers, and senior engineers with business development duties.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License registered in Ohio and Michigan or the ability to obtain reciprocity in both states within one (1) month of starting date.
• 8 years of experience with power system design.
• Working knowledge of institutions, industrial and commercial buildings, and municipal facilities.
• Knowledge of project design, cost, and scheduling.
• Familiarity with lighting software.
• Ability to establish strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present designs both written and orally.
• Attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.
• Experience in electrical substation and medium voltage design is desirable.
