Shop Technician - Water and Wastewater Systems (Industrial/Commercial)

Position Overview: 
We are seeking an entry level Shop Technician to join our team. The Service Technician will assist senior technicians with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Candidate should have a basic foundational knowledge of mechanical systems and a strong willingness to learn and grow under supervision.  This candidate will also operate commercial motor vehicles to perform service deliveries. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of systems that are vital to our clients' operations.

 

Key Responsibilities: 
- Assist with diagnosing and repair of water and wastewater systems at industrial and commercial client sites systems under the guidance of senior technicians. 

-Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks under supervision. 

- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; report defects and learn to coordinate with maintenance for repairs. 

-Safely operate CMVs (DOT physical required) for local or regional deliveries; assist with loading/unloading as needed. 

- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and protected from damage; verify shipment accuracy. 

-Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (tires, fluid levels, lights) and report maintenance needs. 

- Provide professional customer service and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle. 

- Document work performed, parts used, and any relevant information for client records. 
 
Additional Requirements: 
- Basic knowledge and experience with electrical panels, pumps, and motors. 
- Basic plumbing skills for system installation and maintenance. 
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to working with electrical and mechanical equipment. 

 

Qualifications: 
- High school diploma or equivalent; or relevant experience preferred. 
- 2 to 5 years of driving experience with strong interest in developing driving and mechanical skills. 
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
- Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
