Kleinfelder is seeking a Project Controls Specialist/Scheduler to join our growing team to support construction projects. This role can be based in our Christiansburg office or Richmond Office. 

This is a support role on various assignments and shall assist in providing professional scheduling services necessary to support project delivery. The Scheduler will assist in the development and preparation of documents and materials needed to effectively manage a schedule. The Scheduler may also participate in meetings with the project team, prepare presentations and/or reports summarizing findings and/or recommendations.

Qualifications:
• 1-3 years experience in civil engineering, construction management or another related field
• 1-3 years of progressive experience in Project Controls utilizing Primavera P6 Enterprise on Transportation and Building/Facilities Projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Occasional travel may be required

 

Responsibilities

  • This is an entry-level support role on various assignments and shall assist in providing professional scheduling services necessary to support project delivery
  • The Scheduler will assist in the development and preparation of documents and materials needed to effectively manage a schedule
  • The Scheduler may also participate in meetings with the project team, assist in the preparation of presentations and/or reports summarizing findings and/or recommendations
  • Review and evaluation of the monthly Schedule Updates
  • Advise and support the Project Controls team and other project team members in the preparation of schedule-related analysis, reports and presentations
  • Review and evaluation of the Design-Builder and Contractor scope issues, notice letters, potential change orders, and supporting documentation (including Time Impact Analyses)
  • Preparation of independent schedule impact analyses to support change order negotiations and processing
  • Perform forensic delay analysis techniques on claims submitted by contractors with Senior level staff
  • Review and evaluation of monthly invoices and Progress Reports
  • Attend meetings at the client’s offices as well as attend project site visits (when required)
  • Assist in creating a master schedule to establish the sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion deadlines
  • Determine reasonable schedule logic, duration, and constraints based on interactive planning sessions with project teams
  • Apply construction methods and sequencing of both transportation Infrastructure and Building/Facilities and prepares schedule status reports
  • Capture impacts and delays to project schedules and recommend mitigation/recovery schedules
  • Interacts with internal and external personnel on major matters
  • Communicate with supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects, capture sequence revisions, and update the contract schedules
  • Understand the scope, drawings, specifications and performs mathematical calculations to manage / review schedules effectively
  • Perform all work listed above, under guided direction of senior level staff
