ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training who will provide mechanical engineering support to the project team, ensuring that technical excellence, cost, schedule, and contractual requirements are achieved. This individual will work closely with the mechanical engineering team to ensure that working plans and technical drawings meet project specifications and goals.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical Engineering discipline or equivalent
0 - 4 years of Mechanical, Piping, Project Engineering or industrial facilities experience in the oil and gas or related industry.
Engineer-in-Training designation or eligible for registration with APEGA.
Knowledge of the ABSA design registration process, AB-525, and the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation would be an asset.
Knowledge or experience conducting Fitness-for-Service evaluations per API-579 would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of asset reliability and piping replacement scope would be an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents.
RESPONSIBILITES
Assist with the completion of mechanical engineering activities with the objective of meeting the defined contractual scope to the relevant codes, standards, and company procedures.
Assist in the creation of maximum allowable work pressure (MAWP) calculation, preparation of design pressure re-rate packages, preparation/review of Fitness-for-Service packages and updating Overpressure Protection by System Design (OPPSD) reports.
Assist in the preparation of design alteration and/or registration packages for submission to the Alberta Safety Authority (ABSA).
Assist in the creation and/or updating of engineering/project documents such as Requests for Information, Technical Specification Deviations, and a variety of other technical documentation.
Assist team with drafting and organizing technical drawings using engineering and design software.
Play an active role in team and internal stakeholder meetings.
Completion of other relevant engineering and support duties as required.
