  Step into Your New Role  Kleinfelder has an exciting opportunity available for 2 Talent Coordinators to be based in our East Division operation, reporting to the East Division Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).  These positions will be a critical role in our total talent initiative.  Position Responsibilities   The focus of the role will be on managing the new talent acquisition process for the East Division, a team of 1100+ professionals. The Drafter will prepare drawings and exhibits for design, permitting, land acquisition, operation, maintenance, and construction of natural gas distribution systems. Some typical project types are long transmission pipeline installations, retrofitting existing pipelines and installing or upgrading system controls, valves, and fittings. Drawing components include wiring diagrams, foundations, component assemblies, welded assemblies and geo-referenced aerial imagery.    The Drafter may be responsible to review as-built documentation for accuracy, report findings and incorporate red line as-built information into existing drawings in various formats. Kleinfelder’s Geo-Environmental team is looking for you! From geotechnical and environmental assessment, hydrogeology, environmental planning, and permitting, to remediation, Kleinfelder offers a variety of career opportunities for you to grow professionally.       Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is looking for the right person to join our Geo-Environmental Team in our Mechanicsburg, PA office.   Job Description Kleinfelder is looking for ambitious individuals to support growth of the Geo-Environmental Team in West Viginia, Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.  The team works on a wide variety of projects including mine reclamation, solar development, landside assessment and repair, and energy transmission and distribution.  We are seeking candidates with 0 to 3+ years’ experience with a technical background in geology or geotechnical engineering.   The selected candidate will be capable of working both as an integral team member and at times independently, using knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and solve problems of diverse scope. Kleinfelder provides training for all new tasks.   This is an exciting and challenging position that requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a highly organized and responsive candidate, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.    Responsibilities may include:  - Supporting geotechnical field work / analysis including soil boring logging, sampling, and testing. - Soil boring and monitoring well installation. - Organization and performance of the geotechnical and environmental field investigation. - Oversight of subcontractors and vendors performing drilling, laboratory analytical services. maintenance, and excavation activities. - Soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater screening and sampling. - Conducting site inspections as part of environmental assessments and compliance audits. - Preparation of proposals, cost estimates, plans, technical specifications, including day-to-day client and stakeholder correspondence. - Review and interpret data and analytical laboratory results. - Prepare field reports, internal / external correspondence, technical reports and geologic analyses. This is a full-time in-office position at our Kearny Mesa office location.   Summary Under the direction of the CM Division Senior Controls Manager, the Project Controls Associate performs assignments relating to project forecasting, cost control, documentation, and monthly client reporting;   Regularly participates in administration of contract and task orders including budget baseline, generation of cost proposals and pricing materials, and monitoring of financial performance, and subconsultant management;  Effectively monitors and manages project within the designated accounting and management software tool (Deltek and WoPR) including review of project charges, staffing plans, work breakdown structure, subcontracts and master work agreements and other direct project cost;.  Performs a variety of accounting tasks related to contract and task order administration including completion of monthly invoice packages, collections, client calls, daily review of outstanding AR, accounting adjustments, resolving short payments and analyzing of client accounting forms and guidelines;  Performs labor compliance tasks including review of certified payroll, review of supporting labor compliance documentation,  and management of various labor compliance systems.  Assists with assigned contract and task order review and analysis including review of insurance requirements, specialized provisions, and contract language.   Step into Your New Role  Kleinfelder is looking for an experienced hiring coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience with the hiring process and a passion for teamwork. This critical role will help ensure consistency in the hiring process; starting from understanding Kleinfelder’s West Division near and long-term hiring needs, working with hiring managers and other stakeholders to create compelling job requisitions, partnering with our internal recruiting team to post requisitions and help with initial candidate screening, and circling back to the hiring managers to ensure that we are promptly evaluating exceptional candidates. This role will also work with Kleinfelder’s internal marketing team to create externally oriented and innovative advertising campaigns centered around key hiring needs.   The focus of the role will be to support and facilitate the hiring of critical staffing needs across Kleinfelder’s West Division. This will involve working with our internal recruiting team, division leadership, Area Managers, and hiring managers to ensure there is a holistic approach to identifying needed staff, how we will source them (e.g., internal recruiting team, external recruiters, staffing agencies, campus recruiting, etc.), ensuring hiring managers are actively following up on candidates, providing materials to hiring managers/interviews to better tell our story, helping ensure that we put out a competitive/our best offer, and tracking progress.   Specific tasks/activities may include the following: - Develop and track Area-specific and Division hiring plans using current fiscal year plans and anticipated turnover to ensure sufficient staff are available to execute work. - Maintain hiring plans in “living” format to reflect real time changes that impact the West Division business situation and strategy. - Coordinate with Areas to ensure current list of requisitions are accurate and up to date so the recruiting team isn’t spending time sourcing/screening candidates that are not needed. - Work with the Area Managers, Division leadership, and Corporate recruiting to ensure that all parties are in sync on the hiring strategy. This person will be a part of a growing team within an expanding company supporting local infrastructure projects that help the public and are happening in your community!     The Project Controls Manager performs tasks in support of project budget, schedule and reporting activities.  This position assists Kleinfelder's project managers and program managers with the development and organization of project data such as fee estimates, earned value, status reports, cost reports, backlog projections and resource needs.     Experience:    Self-motivated, detail oriented professional with 10+ years in planning/scheduling, cost control, and project administration using Excel, Word, and Outlook. 8+ years of financial/ accounting or construction management experience preferred.    Advanced skills in Excel and advanced spreadsheet functions preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Demonstrate team collaboration, communication, organization, and self-prioritization skills.    Responsibilities will include: - Work directly with Project Managers, Business Managers, and Project Control Specialists to support the execution of large-scale delivery projects from proposal to close-out phases. - Work with the Project Manager to create Project Management Plans for project team application. - Assist in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), schedules, earned value, and other project documents. - Provide support for intermediate planning and scheduling for baseline, resources, and progress tracking needs. - Implement and execute proper controls to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects. Develop and issue timely cost reports. - Prepare and issue cost analysis narratives including recommendations for corrective actions that are used by the project team to manage the work. - Prepare earned value-based reports, including earned value curves. - Assist with preparation of cost proposals in Kleinfelder and Client formats. - Support Project Managers, Business Managers, and Project Control Specialists in contract management/compliance, invoice management, document control, client meetings/coordination, and interaction with AR Collections Specialist team. - Take the lead in the development and maintenance of periodic status reports to keep management and/or client informed on the project progress. - Coordinate with Kleinfelder’s contract department for initiation and completion of Prime/Sub agreement, Certificate of Insurance, subcontractor task orders, and Kleinfelder Master Service Agreements. - Implement and monitor project document structure to ensure QA/QC compliance, logical tier creation, and coordination of project files through administrative team.  This includes hard copy, electronic, and SharePoint filing. - Manage a team of 5-7 geographically-located PCS’ to ensure adoption and compliance with best practices   Position Competency Requirements:   Acquiring Information - Consults with others on problems and activities - Collects information from a range of sources to assess and guide job activities - Asks effective questions to obtain information to help him/her perform their job   Demonstrating Initiative - Takes action on his/her own without being prompted - Able to resolve problems independently   Prioritize and Organizing Work - Allocates time and attention based on what is most important to achieve key goals and objectives - Approaches work in an organized manner - Effectively manages tasks, information, and requests   Experience & Academic Requirements:   Education: Associate degree from a two-year college in Finance, Business, Project Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.     Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Lead Drainage Engineer and/or Lead Stormwater Engineer to join our SoCal Design Team! The successful candidate will provide coordination of project execution and control on civil transportation projects to achieve project continuity within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through final design. In addition to championing technical excellence on projects, you’ll be a driving force behind cultivating relationships with key stakeholders internally, clients, and industry teaming partners.   Responsibilities: - Serve as lead drainage and/or lead stormwater technical liaison with client on project efforts. - Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation facilities, public and private site development, solar facilities, and a wide variety of flood control projects.  - Drainage design, including, but not limited to the design of storm drains, pipe networks, storm sewers, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, bridge deck drainage, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics and roadside ditches. Caltrans/highway experience a plus. - Stormwater design includes preparing agency-required documentation such as SWQMPs, Water Quality Technical Reports, SWPPPs, and other documents describing permanent and temporary erosion control measures such as ditches, channels, basins, silt fences, fiber rolls, and other CASQA-required devices.  Caltrans/highway experience a plus. - Coordinate efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort.  - Perform design and oversee preparation of plans and details using AutoCAD/Microstation and/or Civil-3D/InRoads/Openroads. - Prepare erosion control and/or stormwater management plans. - Development of specifications, technical report writing, quantities, cost estimating, and engineering support of construction. - Participate in the preparation of proposals and project interviews. - Mentoring of junior staff.   Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.  Master's degree is a plus.
