  Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is currently looking for experienced Utility Locators to perform subsurface utility locates on highway related and private projects within the Central to North-Eastern Ohio areas. The person filling this role will be required to report remotely to the Dover, DE office at least once per month to attend mandatory virtual safety/staff meetings. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and be a detailed oriented individual interested in joining our Traffic Engineering and Utility Locating Division. OQ Certification must be obtained within one month of employment.   Responsibilities: Under the direction of a Utility Locate Supervisor, the person filling this role will perform work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas as well as reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to detect and locate said utilities. The utilities may include (but not be limited to) gas, electric, cable TV, telecommunications, sanitary sewer, water lines, street lighting and other facilities within the predefined construction area.   - Use iPad or other devices to receive, document and close out excavation notices - Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities - Use assigned communication equipment to effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities - Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits - Use ground penetrating radar or sonar to locate non-ferrous conduits and pipes - Provide accurate documentation and photos of all locates related to all locates completed - Receive and respond to excavation notices in accordance with established time requirements - Operate company vehicle in a safe manner, and maintain professional appearance - Regularly drive to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings - Be able to perform junction well and/or manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices - Perform work in all weather conditions   Requirements: - High School Diploma, or GED - Minimum of 1-year utility locate experience - Minimum of 1-year damage free - Ability to obtain Operator Qualification certification within one month of employment - Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices - Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check   Physical Abilities: Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools; reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally; bending at the waist; standing and or walking for extended periods of time; hearing and speaking to exchange information; carrying 3-5 lb. electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 50 pounds.   Move Forward with Kleinfelder  Kleinfelder has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961. Responsibilities: - Ensure Kleinfelder exceeds client expectations through frequent communication with targeted clients and Kleinfelder’s Construction Materials Engineering and Testing delivery teams. - Identifies and develops project opportunities for new work and/or expanded services for new and established clients.  - Engages with Kleinfelder’s Construction Materials Engineering and Testing delivery teams to ensure project sales, revenue, and margins meet projected thresholds. - Coordinates project delivery and proposal teams with clear and succinct communication as to the client requirements and differentiation strategy. - Develops and maintains client relationships to identify new opportunities in additional service lines or expanded geographies. - Identifies opportunities and takes action to build relationships between one's area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals; shares information and solicits feedback.  - Handles customer questions and complaints, communicates with customers, handles service problems politely and efficiently, always available for customers, follows procedure to solve customer problems, understands company products and services, maintains pleasant and professional image.  - Recognizes problems and responds, systematically gathers information, sorts through complex issues, seeks input from others, addresses root cause of issues, makes timely decisions, uses consensus when possible, and communicates decisions to others.  - Understands the organization’s mission and functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems work and operate effectively within them; this includes the programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization.  - Develops proposal strategies that utilize the Company’s strengths and innovative thinking to gain a competitive advantage.   Position Competencies and Requirements: - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.  - Able to communicate effectively with a variety of people. - Customer service oriented. - Excellent time management skills. - Experience with CRM is highly desirable; Deltek preferred.  Experience & Academic Requirements:  - Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s Degree or equivalent desired (Civil Engineering preferred). - Experience: 15+ years of related experience, with 10+ years of professional marketing and/or sales experience, and 6 years of management experience required with a consulting engineering firm or related business. Kleinfelder's Geotechnical Services support the planning, engineering, and construction of complex projects, and our specialists are leading experts in their fields.    Step into Your New Role  Kleinfelder is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer with 0 to 3 years' experience to join us in our Cranberry Township, PA or Bridgeport, WV office. We are looking for someone experience in, or the ability to readily learn, all basic components for the delivery of a geotechnical investigation including: - Organization and performance of the geotechnical field investigations, - Logging of geotechnical borings and test pits including soil and rock classification, - Assignment of the appropriate laboratory testing, - Performance of the associated engineering analyses under the guidance of a professional engineer, - Shallow/deep foundation design, - Slope stability, - Engineering analysis, - Geotechnical report preparation, - Working with design teams to incorporate geotechnical aspects into site designs, and - Monitoring and trouble-shooting Geotechnical issues during construction earthwork and foundation construction.    Skills required for this position include: - Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks, - Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment, - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, - A thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment, - A can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset are essential, - An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, subcontractors and regulators, and  - Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point. The ideal candidate will have: - BS in Geological/Civil Engineering - EIT is preferred (or the ability to obtain within 6 months) - Experience with gINT, LPILE, SlopeW and/or CAD software is a plus. - Ability to travel overnight (up to 50 percent of time) for drilling and construction observation assignments.
