We provide Construction Inspection services to a broad range of State, local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection. We currently are working on many transportation projects in ME and NH.
Qualified candidates should possess strong initiative, be able to perform routine to complex inspection in the field and provide oversight and documentation of construction methods and contractor's operations in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT and Maine Turnpike are a plus.
The Chief Inspector will prepare daily reports and data sheets and may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the owner/supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Sound implementation of construction policies and procedures. Direct all aspects of the construction process to meet Company goals.
- Monitor safety, compliance, productivity and workload as needed to maximize efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
- Facilitate and support the construction process.
- Manage the utilization of resources to ensure safety, compliance and productivity. Monitor workload and re-balance as needed to maximize efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with Company standards and procedures Federal, DOT and OSHA; State and Local: codes, regulations and requirements.
- Ensure accurate documentation of work including SOP's, work order historicals, daily completion reporting, sketches, Operator Qualification, etc.
- Coordination of work packages to the team and ensuring representation on all projects before starting.
- Coordinate all Field Meetings necessary to progress the projects, including pre-construction meetings, safety meetings, notifications and all daily tail gate / daily safety brief meetings.
- Coordinate welding operations between CWI and Radiography contractor.
Requirements:
- Personal vehicle and valid driver's license
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required with course work in Building Inspection, Home Inspection, Construction Technology, Drafting and Mathematics. Bachelor's degree preferred BUT experience will be reviewed and accepted for this position.
- Preferred certifications: ACI concrete certified, NETTCP paving certified, PCI certified and NACE level certification
- Experience with daily reporting to include electronic software such as Appia or Field manager software; must be able to submit in PDF format via e-mail, Excel version of Daily Report with daily photos contained in the report by completion of workday.
- Must have portable computer for field use and device capable of taking pictures (smart phone or digital camera)
- Five plus (5+) years of proven managerial experience with a focus on construction policies and practices.
- Technical competence to prudently apply and support construction operations while adhering to National Grid policies and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of gas transmission and distribution systems, engineering, construction & maintenance practices, gas utilization equipment, gas metering; Federal, State, and Municipal Codes are essential.
- Familiarity with Construction standards, Work Methods, Rules for Safe Operation, and associated procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required, in addition to planning, organizing and computer skills.
- Prior experience dealing with diverse groups such as gas and/or electric customers, government officials, etc. in a tactful and diplomatic manner is vital.

Kleinfelder is looking for a construction professional with strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field, in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The selected candidate will be responsible for inspecting and reporting on every phase on the construction process (e.g. civil (site work), structural, building, earthwork, safety, etc.).
The candidate will also be required to provide on-site inspections, observations, and reporting of the erosion/sediment control methods used by the contractor during construction. Lastly, the candidate will also be able to ensure contract documents represented by civil drawings and specifications are properly executed by the contractor.
Responsibilities may include:
- Daily presence on the project site.
- Coordination of construction quality assurance activities and documents with client, contractor, and jurisdictional authorities.
- Documentation of contractor manpower, progress, materials, locations, and schedule through written reports, logs, photos, video, GPS coordinates, and proprietary computer software.
- Verification of contractor's materials, installation processes, and construction activities, including environmental compliance, for adherence to contract documents.
- Tracking deviations from the contract documents, as well as verification of all corrective action.
- Inspection and testing to confirm material properties and installation.
- Participation in regular project meetings.
- Proactive communication to project team and stakeholders (as appropriate) through written reports, meetings, emails, and conversations (in-person and telephone).
- Review and maintenance of project related documents (e.g. plans, specifications, memorandums, emails, reports, submittals, requests-for-information, etc.).
- Coordination and cooperation with contractor's quality control manager.

Consideration for this position requires the following certifications or experience:
- A minimum of five years of related construction management, engineering, or quality assurance inspection experience.
- Familiarity with pipeline construction including permits, specifications, procurement, installation, environmental concerns, and safety.

Under supervision and with latitude for independent action and decision, our engineers perform responsible engineering work on a professional level in design or analysis of engineering projects. The successful candidate will provide coordination of project execution and control on civil transportation projects to achieve project continuity within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through final design. Kleinfelder is seeking a California Registered Professional Geologist (PG) to work a variety of projects to benefit our southern California community. One of these projects involves deep-well drilling for purposes of groundwater resourcing and characterization. This role will assist with a variety of public infrastructure projects.
The candidate for this position will sit in the Los Angeles County area. The Professional Geologist will be expected to provide leadership support to our team and ensure that technical excellence, cost, schedule, and contractual requirements are achieved for assessment and remediation projects. The potential candidate should be able to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment and exercise project authority and mentorship over project team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direct supervision, this individual will grow into either Project Management or Project Technical responsibilities. The person will also be responsible for completing well-defined, assigned field and office tasks including, but not limited to:
- Developing cost proposals, work plans, and execution strategies.
- Providing health and safety support.
- Providing technical support to field staff.
- Task managing and performing field efforts for complex soil, soil-vapor, and groundwater assessment and remediation projects.
- Subcontractor and third-party oversight and management.
- Project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Assisting Project Managers with preparation of technical reports and providing quality assurance/quality control of project documents with a focus on compliance with client and regulatory agency processes, procedures, and policies and regulations.
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting the project team with the goal of maximizing performance and efficiency.
- Supporting the project management team with site strategy, budget management, health and safety performance, and client interaction.
EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- California Professional License (Professional Geologist- PG) is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience demonstrating successful technical execution on multi-disciplinary environmental assessment and remediation projects.
- Experience with logging, coring and well installation. Experience with deep (i.e., >500 feet) wells a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Geology, Engineering, or another related field. Advanced degree(s) preferred.
- Experience in providing leadership to diverse (both technically and geographically) project teams on high-pressure, high-visibility projects.
- OSHA 40HR HAZWOPER training completed and up to date.
- Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulatory agency laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Advanced computer skills with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience with MS Project a plus.

Kleinfelder's is seeking a Marketing Pursuit Leader to support our Business Development efforts in the West. This position is available in any of our California and Washington offices.
The Pursuit Leader will be responsible for the development and production of proposals and statement of qualifications in response to public agency procurement solicitations. This position requires strong organizational skills, writing and proofreading abilities (technical writing experience a plus), coordination with different teams and outside partners, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines. Responsibilities and competencies:
- Manage, plan, and coordinate a variety of marketing activities to support Business Development activities involved in the preparation and writing of marketing proposals, client interviews and presentations, strategic planning processes, and/or other client-focused submittals in accordance with Kleinfelder's brand standards and style guide.
- Assist Business Development Managers, Client Account Managers, and Segment Managers in assessing the needs of client development and implement processes and programs to support these needs.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm's strategic goals, key staff, significant projects, and target audiences to facilitate efficient proposal/pursuit efforts.
- Display creativity in applying graphics (such as photos, graphs, charts, tec.) to improve communication in written documents. Partner and give direction to the design team as needed.
- Create, gather, research, and organize information from many sources to generate business development documents and presentations. Must synthesize disparate data from multiple sources into coherent documents.
- Create and modify existing materials and write content to effectively communicate services, capabilities, and market messages.
- Assist technical professionals in tracking and driving marketing pursuits; from identification of opportunities, through proposal preparation, to winning and contracting the project pursuit.
- Coordinate with internal and external team members.
- Serve as central resource of marketing materials and information.
- Maintain marketing information systems.
- Coordinates efforts across Kleinfelder offices in the West Division.
Qualifications:
- Minimum experience: 3-5 years of marketing experience with a professional services firm.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in English, Marketing, Journalism or Communications.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign desired.

- Have experience supervising field observation, testing, and performing site visits

- Be able to organize priorities and multi-task effectively

Requirements
- Registered Professional Geologist (PG) or Engineer (PE).
- 6+ years of related experience in consulting engineering firm or related service business and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required; or 4 years related experience with a Master's or 2 years related experience with PhD.
- Other Knowledge and Skills: Applies the most current technologies/methodologies in field of expertise; possesses excellent communication skills.
- California registered PE or PG
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training (a plus but not required)
- Exceptional attention to detail and writing skills are required for this task.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to be in the field, carry equipment, perform testing and sampling for multiple hours or multiple days in a row.
- Microsoft Suite
- GeoStudio (SEEP/W, SLOPE/W) (a plus but not required)
- Ensoft (APILE, LPILE, SHAFT) (a plus but not required)

Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Civil Engineer for civil, water, wastewater and stormwater projects in Massachusetts. We are looking for a person with some on-site field experience who is interested in both field and office roles associated with Civil Engineering Projects. Project experience should include two years minimum working in a field role on Heavy Civil, Utility Construction, Water/Wastewater, and/or Roadway Construction projects. Additional experience working in an office environment supporting or performing engineering design on Civil Engineering Projects is preferred. This position will be based in the Springfield, MA area. Background should include education and/or experience serving in a support role related to some of the following:
- Installation of small, mid-size and large diameter pipe;
- Installation of pre-cast and cast-in-place concrete structures;
- Pump Station and/or Plant construction
- Construction of temporary support of excavation systems;
- Flow handling;
- Traffic management;
- Construction in urban environments;
- Contaminated soil management;
- Geotechnical considerations, such as excavation, backfill and compaction; and
- Trenchless applications such as cured-in-place pipelining, pipe bursting, directional drilling and/or and sliplining
- Effective communication and contact with project personnel, client, utility companies, and the public
Responsibilities:
- Serve among multiple members of the Kleinfelder team, the owner’s representatives, and the contractor and report to the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
- Operate with a high degree of independence, self-direction and initiative
- Responsible for obtaining, verifying, and maintaining project documentation pertaining to daily work activities, record drawings, project events, correspondence, and recordkeeping
- Work as part of a design team assisting in the design of civil engineering projects.
- Manage other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Demonstrated successful past experience with similar responsibilities
- Ability to effectively interact with others and good communication skills.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Also preference for CAD skills
- Minimum 3 years of related experience (civil construction) in construction and or design support roles
Education: Associates degree in civil engineering technology or related and/or a minimum of 2 years experience in water, wastewater and/or stormwater-related construction projects. BA/BS degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

The successful candidate will be able to:
- Drive sales from a select group of targeted clients.

The Business Development Manager will thoroughly understand the client's business needs to develop innovative solutions and sound recommendations to meet their needs.

- Knowledge of the MD, PA and NJ markets preferred.
Education and Certification:
